We had a pop up booth and a talk!
The Voice House was delighted to be part of the Mother’s Day weekend event at HomeTeamNS Khatib, where families joined us for a meaningful day of learning, activities, and conversations.
As a communications academy, The Voice House goes beyond public speaking and presentations. We shared how we help children and teens develop practical communication skills essential for everyday life — from classroom participation and social confidence to effective day-to-day conversations.
Our talk @ 1pm
Communication with Your Child: What to Avoid
During the session, our speaker shared how the way adults respond to children can directly shape their confidence, willingness to communicate, and emotional connection at home. She spoke about common habits that may unintentionally shut children down — such as interrupting too quickly, dismissing feelings, over-correcting, or turning conversations into lectures instead of discussions.
She highlighted the importance of creating safe and open conversations where children feel heard, understood, and encouraged to express themselves. Through relatable everyday examples, she shared how small shifts in tone, wording, and listening habits can help children become more responsive, confident, and comfortable communicating with others.
Our Booth
Visitors stopped by The Voice House booth throughout the event to learn more about our programmes, teaching approach, and how we nurture confident communicators from a young age.
Families had the opportunity to speak with our team, ask questions about our classes, and gain deeper insight into how our curriculum supports children in both academic and social settings.
