FAQs

01. Can caregivers support breastfeeding?

While our caregivers are not certified lactation consultants, they are trained to provide essential support to breastfeeding mothers. This includes assisting with comfortable positioning, ensuring the mother remains hydrated and nourished, and managing the sterilization of pumps and storage of expressed milk. They serve as a practical pair of hands so you can focus on your recovery and your baby.

Safety is our highest priority. All caregivers assigned to infant care undergo rigorous vetting and specialized training in newborn safety, including proper carrying techniques and sleep positioning. We always recommend that parents spend the first few weeks supervising the caregiver to establish routines and build mutual trust, ensuring everyone is comfortable before leaving the baby for longer periods.

We recommend starting the hiring process at least 3 to 4 months before your expected due date. This timeline allows for the following:

Processing Time: Managing the work permit application and any necessary travel arrangements (typically 4–8 weeks).

Bonding & Integration: Having the helper arrive about a month before the baby is born allows her to learn your household’s specific routines and hygiene standards.

Physical Support: A helper can take over heavy housekeeping and meal preparation during your final trimester, allowing you much-needed rest before the baby arrives.

Absolutely. One of the greatest benefits of hiring a domestic helper is their versatility. While they may initially join your home to support you during your pregnancy and the newborn stage, their role can naturally evolve as your child grows. Once your baby is older, your helper can transition into a dual role that includes childcare and general household management, such as cooking, cleaning, and laundry.

We highly recommend that you include this long-term plan in your initial enquiry. By letting us know your intentions for both specialized care and future general housework, we can provide you with a better match during the selection process. This allows us to identify candidates who are not only skilled in infant care but also have the experience and preference for managing a full household in the years to come.If your helper requires more specific skills as your child enters a new developmental stage, you can also sign her up for our childcare training programme to ensure she is fully prepared.
